Schedule an Appointment with a Career Counselor

For a resume critique or for quick questions, you may want to come by our office on the 2nd floor of Granville Towers South during walk-in hours (10:30am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm during the summer). If you are unable to find an appointment with a counselor within the next 2 weeks, please call the UCS Help Desk at 919-962-6507 or email ucs@unc.edu for other options.

Strong Interest Inventory Interpretation

If you have taken the Strong Interest Inventory online and cannot attend a Career Clinic, please make TWO (2) half hour appointments back-to-back for the interpretation with any of the following:

Planning for your career or deciding on a major? First year undergrads, sophomores, and juniors, schedule an appointment with:

Internship Information (all students)

We recommend that you first attend a UCS workshop on finding an internship . See schedule at http://careers.unc.edu/events/workshops. For further assistance with internships, please schedule an appointment with:

Part-Time Employment

If you are interested in part-time positions on and off campus (not offered through the financial aid work-study program), schedule an appointment with:

Juniors, Seniors, Masters & PhD Degree Students, and Recent Alumni*

Select your major or specialized career interest from one of the lists below to make an appointment with the counselor for that major/area:
Special note: Masters & PhD Science and Health students, please schedule 2 half-hour appointments back-to-back or call the UCS Reception Desk to make a full hour appointment.

*Individual career counseling is only available to alumni within the initial six months after graduation. Alumni requiring individual counseling who have graduated more than six months ago will need to contact the General Alumni Association Career Office.

If you have a specific need to meet with the director, you may request an appointment with the Director, Marcia Harris.

Graduate & Professional School Advising

UCS does not provide advising for graduate/professional school admission. That service is provided by the Academic Advising Office. Please review the list of appropriate faculty/staff advising in these areas and use the Advising Office appointment scheduling system to make an appointment to speak with the appropriate advisor. (Dean/Directors' office hours are available on the Advising website.)
